In CURRENTS, I express my deep appreciation for living by the ocean and my personal experience with waves and currents. The ocean’s movement is both powerful and unpredictable—you can choose to resist, or you can go with the flow and discover where it leads.
I explore these themes of strength and surrender through the use of strong fibers and rope-like materials. By incorporating braiding and weaving techniques, I mimic the fluid motion of ocean currents and waves. Within the composition, there are areas of stillness, moments of resistance, and instances where going against the flow becomes an act of resilience, itself.

Artist Statement
My work explores transformation — of materials, of perception, of the spaces we inhabit.
Drawing upon my career in biotechnology, I work with natural fibers ethically sourced around the world, materials once living, now reimagined. The work is tactile, meant to be experienced beyond sight.
My intention is not to dictate meaning but to create space for contemplation. I hope that the viewer may find themselves immersed in an evolving experience — perhaps glimpsing sunlight, waves, or a bird.
Ultimately, my pieces exist in dialogue with their environment. They respond to light, to movement, to the presence of the viewer. In this way, they are never static; they shift and evolve, just like nature.
